Purchasing a smartkontrols system

SmartHome Controls is your specialist supplier for smartkontrols systems.

If you require a heating control, lighting control or a combined system, we can provide this directly to you. We are also happy to work along with other specialist suppliers who may be providing a range of other equipment for you.

If you require a lighting control system, either as a stand alone system or as one integrated with your heating control system, we can design a system to suit your requirements.

Cedia

Custom Installer companies typically offer other home automation equipment such as multi room audio, home cinema, IT and communications services. Often they will also offer home integration via systems like Crestron, AMX or Panja and the smartkontrols system is compatible with these Home automation systems and examples of these can be seen on our site.

Many Custom Installers are members of CEDIA, as is SmartHome Controls.

Pricing and quotations

As you will appreciate, the systems that we supply are intelligent systems that are designed for each property, with a host of advanced energy saving features, rather than simply some thermostats providing simple on/off switching. In order to arrive at a price for your property we will need some information on the property and the heating, cooling or lighting requirements that you have.

SmartHome Controls provides a specialist service to ensure the correct application of smartkontrols products. As with all new approaches, the current group of tradesmen may be unfamiliar with the system, and will often require technical guidance and reassurance so that they can play their part in installing and commissioning the associated systems in their house. Conversely, we have no wish to duplicate the efforts of the traditional teams already on site. For these reasons, we have developed our package to provide Design, Supply, Commissioning and After-Sales Support.

Design

We work from floor plans of the property (and a site survey if required) plus drawings and details of the proposed mechanical and electrical services to be installed. These usually include lighting circuit design and schematic details of the HVAC installation. We will then produce design drawings which take two forms.

Supply

SmartHome Controls supplies all the necessary components to site for installation by other parties, typically an electrical contractor. This is well within the capabilities of any competent electrician. Full drawings are supplied, and all the terminations are simple screw terminals.

Commissioning

When the electrical installation is complete, and all the connections are made, power on, and the mechanical services have been pre-commissioned (boilers and pumps run, wet system filled and bled, air conditioning charged and ready to run), we will attend site to perform live commissioning and hand over the site.

After Sales Support

We continue to look after the system. Normally every installation is fitted with a GSM modem, which allows us to dial-up the system to check performance and diagnose faults. The dial up service is then included for the first year. We offer maintenance contracts for extension of the dial-up service, and for all on-site support.
