Scene lighting

The smartkontrols intelligent lighting control system allows the mood of a room to be altered at the touch of a button. Each individual circuit can be combined with blind or curtain controls to give maximum flexibility.

Route Lighting

This technique allows a series of lights to be turned on (at pre-determined levels) to light the route from one room to another at the press of a button.

Particularly useful when entering a darkened property, or going downstairs in the middle of the night, corridors, stairwells and the destination rooms themselves can be pre-lit.

With smartkontrols a Route plate can have dedicated buttons for each pre-set route “front door to kitchen” “front door to Master Bedroom” etc.

Multi Press operation

By using smartkontrols’ unique Multi-Press functions, lights can be turned on and off all over the house.

Suppose the homeowner is asleep in bed, and hears a noise downstairs; from the bedside lighting plate, one press will turn on the bedroom lights, two presses will turn on all “public” areas, but not other bedrooms whilst three presses will turn on all the (designated) lights in the house. The “off” button can be set to mirror these actions in reverse.

Peace of mind

For example, imagine the situation where you are alone and asleep in your house in the middle of the night and you hear a noise. By simply using the light switch in the bedroom, or indeed any other room, you can turn on all the lights in the house and garden. Any intruders are unlikely to want to stay on the property when they are "on display" and they do not know how many people are in the house, which room they are in or even which floors are occupied.

Contrast this with a conventional lighting system where you will switch on your bedroom light and identify where you are in the house. If only one room lights up, then you are also declaring how many people are likely to be in the house and where they are.

Convenience

Think about leaving your house and wanting to make sure that you have turned off the lights. Using a standard button on a smartkontrols lighting plate will allow you to turn off all the lights in the property at the press of a single button.

Security

When you leave your house at night, or on holiday, have you ever worried that people will realise that the house is empty and vulnerable to burglary. Well, you may have the latest alarm system, but if the burglar knows that he has lots of time before you return, then you are vulnerable. What about making the house look occupied by switching lights on and off and opening and closing curtains. You could have a timeclocks and turn on the light in one room at the same time each day but this is unlikely to fool a determined burglar.

This is where the smartkontrols lighting system can bring you real benefits. The system can replay the last 200 button presses in real time while you are away. This means that the lights will come on and off all over the house, curtains will open and close just as if you are in the property.

Integration

With modern houses having a whole range of controls and sensors, for heating, air conditioning, lighting, curtain control and even control of audio, it is only too easy to have a proliferation of controls fixed to the wall which will look unsightly.

The interior decoration in your property is vitally important. Here are some more examples of the type of plates that we supply as standard, from stainless steel, brass, antique brass or the "hi tech look" of graphite. The plates shown here incorporate the control of lighting scenes, allow the setting of temperatures, overriding the heating on or off, as well as opening and closing curtains or blinds.

Infra Red Control - All smart wallplates have built-in Infra Red receivers. A wireless IR handset can therefore be used, either a smartkontrols unit or a combined lighting and audio-visual device.
